Is there a dress code?
Yes, we kindly request all guests be in formal attire. Full-length dresses for women, and suits for men. No jeans, khakis, shorts, etc.!
Can I bring a plus-one?
You are welcome to bring a plus-one if one has been allotted to you on your RSVP form. The number of guests invited will be indicated and unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those listed.
Are kids allowed?
While we adore children, this is an adults only event unless specifically listed on the invitation.

Where are you registered?
We are registered on Pottery Barn/William Sonoma, Amazon and Etsy.
Can I ship gifts directly to you?
Yes, but we plan to move during our engagement so please mail gifts to Kevin & Lisa Wakeman at 1571 Southridge Trl., Algonquin, IL 60102.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
All wedding events will be held indoors. We wanted to ensure a seamless celebration without any concerns of weather!
Is it okay to post about the wedding on social media?

Could you suggest things to do while I'm in town for your wedding?

Is there a hotel room block?
Yes, we have a block of rooms reserved at the JW Marriott Chicago. All standard rooms in our block have been discounted to $259 per night plus tax. When booking, please ensure to use our link for the discount.
Can I use my Marriott Bonvoy points when booking the hotel?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to use your Marriott Bonvoy points if you book through our link. If you’d rather use your points, please ensure to tell the JW Marriott that you are with our party when booking. Feel free to also tell us directly.
Is there parking at the hotel?
Yes, the JW Marriott offers valet parking services for $88 per night or self-park for $68 per night. There are various parking garages nearby with more budget-friendly options should you choose to park elsewhere. To book a spot ahead of time at a nearby garage, we recommend using apps such as ParkWhiz, SpotHero, and iParkit. Please note that street parking is very limited in the Loop, where the JW Marriott is located.
Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?
No, the ceremony will be at St. Mary of the Angels and the reception will be at JW Marriott Chicago. Transportation will be provided for guests from the JW Marriott to the ceremony, with return service for the reception. Should you chose to not use the transportation provided, please consider Chicago’s unpredictable traffic when deciding when to leave. Please do not be late!
Will transportation be provided between ceremony and reception?
Yes, there will be a charter bus service provided for guests from the JW Marriott to the ceremony, with return service for the reception. The departure time will be 2:15 p.m. sharp from the JW.
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. The church has a parking lot available for guests who choose to drive
Do I get to choose my entrée for the reception ahead of time?
Yes, when RSVPing, you will be prompted to select your entrée of choice.
Is it a cash, card or open bar?
It will be an open bar until 10:30 p.m. It will then change to a cash/card bar for the remainder of the event.
